Hygeia announced this week its Environmentally Preferred Breast Pump Program (EPP). These EPP programs are growing in popularity. Hygeia breast pumps, of course, are reusable between mothers as long as each has their own personal accessory set. Certain mothers, corporations who buy pumps for their mothers, and WIC agencies prefer to get a nicely boxed breast pump. Hygeia’s new EPP program takes Hygeia pumps that have been used, returns the pumps back to our San Diego factory and then re-manufactures them with a new personal accessory set and tote bag. For Corporations and WIC agencies this allows these entities to capture the full value of the pump. For mothers it’s a great way to give a nice high value gift, nicely packaged for a low fee. The EPP fee for consumers and Corporation is currently $99 dollars (1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a new pump). Best of all, the new EPP breast pump comes with the same warranty as a brand new breast pump.
